MILLIONS OF CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON EVERY DAY. SOLUTION: ACTRON |

CLEVELAND, OH, May 2004 - Millions of check engine lights are on at any given time in today’s vehicles, many of which go unrepaired. “A simple problem like a windshield wiper is easy to diagnose and repair. But once you get into the realm of OBD I and OBD II Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), you need a way to unlock the code to correctly fix the problem” states John Bauersfeld, VP of Sales for Actron.
When a vehicle’s “check engine” light comes on, it is signaling a possible problem within the emission control system that can affect overall performance and fuel efficiency. The light is triggered by the vehicle’s On-Board computer system, which monitors a vast range of ignition, fuel system, engine and other operating parameters. Unfortunately, the light doesn’t say what is causing it to come on. Without an Actron Code Scanner or Scan Tool, a do-it-yourselfer might try to “take a best guess” at finding the cause of the problem.
Actron offers a solution with easy-to-use diagnostic products like the OBD II AutoScanner™ (Part No. CP9135) and SUPER AutoScanners (CP9145 and CP9150 Kit). These products are able to diagnose all 1996 and newer vehicles, European, Asian and domestic. The SUPER AutoScanner Scan Tools have the added benefit of adapter cables (included with the CP9150 Kit) that allow the tool to diagnose 1984-95 Ford and General Motors and 1989-95 Chrysler vehicles. The tools have the ability to answer: “Why is my check engine light on?” They quickly identify the problem area so you can fix it right the first time and continue on your way.
Actron AutoScanners, with their patented technology, are easier to use and can read more codes than other handheld diagnostic scanners. The tools are fully upgradeable, with an ASE technician toll-free hotline that DIYers can appreciate.
